Long before time began, God saw how humanity would fail Him and fall innumerable times because of the sinful nature in the heart of every human being.
Adam and Eve would have trust issues and discontentment and eat the forbidden fruit. (Genesis 3:6-7)
Cain would have the problem of jealousy and murder his brother Abel. (Genesis 4:1-16)
Noah would get drunk. (Genesis 9:21)
Abraham would lie that his wife Sarah was his sister, because of fear, and when Abraham came to the human conclusion that God was taking too long to grant him the promised son, he tried to expedite God’s promise by having Ismael through Hagar, Sarah’s handmaiden. (Genesis 20:2, Genesis 16:3-4)
The Bible describes Moses as the most humble man who lived, yet Moses committed murder by killing an Egyptian and the same Moses struck the rock when the Lord commanded him to speak to the rock. (Exodus 2-12, Numbers 20:8-11,
Numbers 12:13)
Joseph’s brothers sold him to the Midianite traders and lied to their dad that Joseph had been killed by a ferocious animal. (Genesis 37:28, Genesis 37:33)
Peter denied the Lord three times out of fear. (Matthew 26:69-74)
All through time, man has failed in his attempt to reach to God or live a life of holiness in his own strength.
God always had a plan!!
Over two thousand years ago, God sent His son Jesus, to tabernacle among us. God became human and lived like us, in the worst of human conditions. He lived a perfect and blameless life despite all the hardships he experienced. (John 1:14)
Jesus performed miracle after miracle, one good act after another. The religious leaders could not stand it, they were enamored with jealousy and offered Jesus under false accusation, to be crucified on a Roman cross. Satan thought he had victory over death, the darkest day in history, Jesus crucified!! Humanity would never be rescued from their hopeless propensity to sin. Satan thought he had finally gotten rid of the menace, Jesus.
But God had a plan!!!
The Resurrection!!!!
God raised Jesus from the grave, from death, three days later. (Luke 24:6-7, Matthew 28:5-6)
Jesus by his death and resurrection, freed man from condemnation from sin. He freed man from being held captive to sin. He freed man from attempting in his own strength to reach God. (Mathew 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 3:16)
Jesus set us from free from the curse and the ravages of sin. (Romans 8:1, 2 Corinthians 5:17)
We can know God and be reconciled to Him, by asking Jesus into our lives. We cannot make our way to heaven because we are sinners and our good acts cannot save us, Salvation is a gift. (John 3:16)
Would you give yourself the best Good Friday gift by asking Jesus into your heart?
It is simple:
Accept that you are a sinner.
Believe that Jesus is God’s son and He died for your sins.
Confess your sins, repent and ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior.
Never forget that “Jesus became sin for us that we might become God’s righteousness.”
(2 Corinthians 5:21)
