FAITH- by Hajo Iya

Now faith is the confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1, NIV)

Faith is believing in the existence of something even without tangibly touching it, feeling it and seeing it with our naked eyes. We know that different gases exist even though we cannot see the gases with our naked eyes. We need for instance, to inhale oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide to be alive. A lack of sufficient oxygen even for a few minutes, can cause the brain to be severely damaged or can possibly lead to imminent death.

We cannot touch the wind, but we can feel it blowing over us. We cannot see the bacteria and viruses all around us, but that does not negate their existence. We are currently experiencing the havoc and the global devastation to lives and the economy from COVID-19, yet we cannot see the virus with the naked eye, nor feel it with our senses; however, it is there!

I have not seen anyone refusing to take medication when they have an infection based on the rationale that they have not seen the bacteria causing the infection. Yet time after time, we give excuses for rejecting the salvation message, because we cannot make sense of it.

Faith is not sight, not feelings, nor emotions it is believing the truth of what the all-knowing, transcendent, and unchanging God has stated in His word.

We have repeatedly been witnesses to the evidence of the changed lives of people around us because of the transformational work of Jesus Christ.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone; the new is here. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see! (John 9:25)

On a personal level, my life became positively and forever changed when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Believing is the work of the Holy Spirit; opening the veil to the human heart and enabling us to see our hopeless existence without Jesus Christ.

(1 Corinthians 5:21)

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (Romans 5:6)

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. (Romans 6:2)

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Salvation is a gift that must be received through putting our faith in Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:23)

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

Friend, will you put your faith in Jesus Christ today?
