"Finding Strength Through Sluggish Days"-by Jess Hall

“The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust…” (Psalm 18:2a, NKJV)

- Rock: “sela”- a crag, cliff (ragged rock, stony, stronghold) CLIFF: a very steep, vertical, or overhanging face of rock (Merriam Webster) How often I feel like a slug. A slow-moving, insignificant, blob of goo. So drained by the stressors of life. …These were just a few thoughts creeping into my brain as I watched a slug inch his way across my sidewalk. But God…He had a treasure of truth to teach me in this teeny, tiny creature. The slug was approaching a crack in the sidewalk – an obstacle that would surely impede his forward pokey progress. Reaching it, he hesitated. His sensory tentacles stretched out to look for a solid path. In sudden slow-motion, he veered right, for he had found a rock lodged in the chasm. A rock he climbed on and over to successfully reach the other side. And God…He whispered this to me… No matter what chasm lies in front of you, I am your Rock. Strong and certain. I will give you a firm place to stand, a safe place to cross any obstacle you will encounter. Look for Me and you will find Me…Trust me and you will not fall.

“O LORD, what a variety of things You have made! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your creatures.” (Psalm 104:24, NLT) “You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart. I will be found by you…” (Jeremiah 29:13-14a, NIV)
