"Freed From Failures" by Jess Hall

Am I letting fears about my past

Form failures in my future

By lack of faith in my today?

How quickly I forget my salvation. That perfect moment when the Spirit of His Presence poured into me. (Acts 2:38. Titus 3:5)

Emptying my of my imperfections.

Cleaning out every spot and stain.

Filling me completely with His purity.

I forget He has freed me from every past failure.

Every chain is broken.

Every locked door open.

So why do I keep going back to the cage? Why do I keep holding onto the sin?

Because of my focus.

I keep looking at myself. Thinking about my shame, my failures, my wants, what I need to do.

Instead of looking at Him –

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of  faith…” (Romans 12:2, NIV)

Instead of thinking of Him –

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You!” (Isaiah 26:3, NLT)

Instead of listening to Him –

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17, ESV)

Right now, in this moment, I choose to focus on God…knowing He is for me…He has forgiven me…He loves me. I choose to trust Him.

Letting His will become my will.

Going His way instead of my way.

Walking confident in today.

With His Presence in the present.

Free, forgiven, and full of faith.

FAITH: complete  trust or confidence in someone/something (Oxford Langauges)

“…Call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will hear you…seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the LORD…” (Jeremiah 29:12, 13, 14, ESV)
