Ignite His Light

"...God is light and in him is no darkness at all." (1 John 1:5, NKJV)

God is light. Living within us. Shining from us. A flame, when fueled by our faith, that flares up and shines out His Presence to those around us.

Satan does not want us to shine with God's light. He wants to blot it out in the darkness of despair.

Drown it in deep waters of difficulty.

Smother it in fires of oppression.

Crush it beneath the rubble of guilt and shame.

We have a choice to let our tears extinguish it or our trust ignite it.

Through the weary and the worry, in the midst of the darkness, trust in who God is and what He has promised.

His Wisdom will illuminate our steps. (Psalm 119:105)

His Joy will radiate from our eyes. (Psalm 34:5)

His Peace will sparkle from our soul. (Romans 15:13)

Our Heavenly Father will speak to our hearts through His truth, reminding us:

“...Do not be afraid... I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior..." (Isaiah 43:1b-3a, NLT)

No matter what storm swirls around us, our God is always there with us...within us. No matter what dark place we find ourselves in, His Light will always shine, never being overpowered. (John 1:5)

We are His light in this world, not to be hidden. (Matthew 5:14-15)

So let us be brave, believe, and shine bright with His Light!
