"Trust...Delight...Commit...Be Still"- by Jess Hall

“Trust in the LORD, and do good… Delight yourself in the LORD… Commit your way to the LORD… Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for Him…” (Psalm 37:3, 4, 5,7, ESV)

- Trust: “batach” – be bold, confident, secure, sure, put confidence (Strongs)

TRUST: assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something (Merriam Webster)

- DELIGHT: to take great pleasure (Merriam Webster)

- Commit: “galal” – to roll, roll away (remove) (Strongs)

COMMIT: to put into charge or trust: ENTRUST (Merriam Webster)

- Be Still: “damam” – cease (hold peace, quiet self, rest, be silent) (Strongs)

How do you TRUST in someone? You get to know them.

DELIGHT in someone? Spend time in their presence.

When you do this with your Heavenly Father – reading about Him, praying to Him, listening for Him – your confidence will grow in Who He Is.

You will be able to ENTRUST Him with your hopes and dreams. Your fears and struggles.

Your family, career, and anything precious to you… You will be able to give Him control, REMOVING your hands and PUTTING HIM IN CHARGE of your life.

Quiet yourself before Him.

BE STILL and silent, resting in Him. Waiting for Him. Believing He CAN and WILL care for you better than you ever could.

He will give you the desires of your heart (37:4). He will act (37:5). Bringing forth your righteousness and justice (37:6). Upholding you (37:17). Not putting you to shame (37:19).

Establishing your steps (37:23). Always providing (37:19, 25). Never abandoning (37:33). You will inherit the land…fulfilling all of His promises to you (37:9, 11, 22, 29, 34).

For He loves you unfailingly.

“Let the morning bring me word of Your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go, for to You I entrust my life.” (Psalm 143:8)
